This is a GORGEOUS 1989 SALEEN SSC. This car was purchased October 1, 1999 from the original owner with only 16,199 miles on it. It has been garaged since the day it left the dealers showroom. Since that date, it has been kept covered in a climate controlled garage and lovingly cared for. Today the car has 33,900 miles on the chassis and the new motor has only 350 miles on it. It has never been exposed to, or driven in the rain or snow. It has never been raced, abused in any way, or been in an accident. The car does not leak or burn any oil. It has been changed 3 times since the new motor was installed. Thanks to Big Daddy Performance of Lakewood, NJ for making this car what it is today!
Steve Saleen manufactured 160 SSC’s in 1989 and this one is number 53/160. It is VIN # 1FABP41E3KF227372. The SSC was only manufactured in 1989 and is a true collectable for the serious Mustang enthusiast. The car was professionally modified as a one of a kind road race machine. It was built to put out in excess of 900hp and was then de-tuned to 750hp at the rear wheels, in order to be driven on the street. This car is not for the faint hearted, and driving it is truly an awesome experience that words can’t describe! I am selling the car for my brother, who has recently had a double knee replacement and is unable to drive the car any longer.
The work that has been done on this car includes, but is not limited to the following items (the list is more extensive than what I have mentioned here): Brakes and Wheels: Front Brakes: Baer 13” cross drilled/slotted ventilated rotors with 6 piston Alcon calipers. Front Tires: Bridgestone Potenza 245/45/17 with virtually no wear. Front Wheels: 17” Cobra R’s, sandblasted and powder coated to match the original Saleen wheels. Rear Brakes: Baer 12” cross drilled/slotted ventilated rotors with 4 piston Baer touring caliper package. Rear Tires: Bridgestone Potenza 265/40/17 with virtually no wear. Rear Wheels: 17” Cobra R’s, sandblasted and powder coated to match the original Saleen wheels. Chassis/Suspension: Koni yellow adjustable front struts. Koni yellow adjustable rear shocks. Steeda sub frame connectors. PST front and rear sway bars with urethane bushings. Saleen custom camber caster plates for alignment. Front Saleen offset aluminum rack steering bushings. Custom rear upper and lower control arms. 8.8 Rear 31 spline Mosler axle with 355 Motorsport gears. Ford Motorsport aluminum driveshaft with U support. Motor: Engine is balanced and blueprinted. 364 CI Stroker Man O War block - 412 bore - 3.4” stroke – 8 1/2 to 1 compression. Engine Comp rotating assembly. Custom JE piston assembly. Custom Hydro roller comp. ARP head and main studs. Edelbrock Victor Jr. heads. Holly Systemax II intake. 75 mm Throttle body. 83 lb. fuel injectors. Kooks stainless steel long tube headers to Mac mufflers with 3” turn down. Weldon 2525A fuel pump T-56 Viper tranny. Pro 5.0 shifter Vortek YSI supercharger Vortek intercooler. Crane custom ignition box. Pro M 80 mm. throttle body. All brake and fuel lines are steel braided. Accel cap and MSD distributor. All push rods, head studs, main studs and rod bolts are ARP. Custom Center Force clutch. Canton 7 qt. oil pan. Interior: Auto Meter Pro – Comp Ultra - Lite custom white face gauges. Factory Recaro leather seats. Factory 4 point roll cage. Hideaway Kenwood custom head unit. Custom upholstered rear speaker enclosure. Battery relocation kit with Optima red top battery. Runs on 110 Racing Fuel. Custom Billet aluminum racing pedals. You will notice from the pictures, that the hood on the car is not stock. It is a fiberglass Cervini hood that had been cut out in order to clear the Vortek Supercharger. The factory hood has since been modified to clear the supercharger and will be included with the car, as is the original factory sticker and Dyno sheet.
